Flying Trapeze
Fly through the air with the greatest of ease... just like you see in the circus. During the first class, participants learn the basics. You'll hang by your knees on a stationary bar, then proceed up the ladder to the flying trapeze! After practicing a knee hang position for execution and timing, you may even be ready by the end of the class to attempt a catch with our catcher... and this is just the beginning!

Single Flying Trapeze class: |

There is a $10/spot non-refundable reservation deposit that will be charged to a VISA or MC at the time the reservation is made. Aerial Arts
Static Trapeze
Manipulate your body on and around a stationary bar, hung at various heights. You'll learn positions and tricks, and begin building routines on the trapeze. The class emphasizes strength, conditioning and flexibility. More advanced students will focus on form, style and choreography.
All Aerial
All Aerial classes offer tissue, static trapeze, hoop, and rope.
Tissue
Climbing, wrapping and dropping on an aerial silk - skills are similar to those used on a rope but even more challenging.
Swinging Trapeze (by private instruction)
Swinging trapeze combines static trapeze positions with the dynamics of a swing. There is no net, but everyone wears a safety harness.
Kids' Class
We are happy to offer an aerial arts class specifically for kids (ages 6-13), on Tuesdays from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.

Double Trapeze
Trapeze Arts is thrilled to announce that Helene Turcotte will be teaching Double Trapeze. Helene and her partner Luc performed internationally for over 20 years, they won the Gold Medal at the Monte Carlo Circus Festival, and they were part of the original SF cast at Teatro Zinzanni. Helene is also teaching static trapeze at Trapeze Arts on Saturday afternoons.

AAA Flexibility (Aerial, Acrobatic and All around)
In this class students will focus on stretches that are very beneficial for aerialists and acrobats, however it is open to anyone who wants to improve their flexibility. Students will receive individualized attention and will work at their own level of flexibility and strength. This class will also help students learn to use and develop the flexibility they already possess.

Conditioning
This class will focus on improving full body strength for all circus arts. Exercises will focus on increasing core, upper body, back, legs and shoulder strength! Students in flying trapeze, static trapeze, rope, tissue and trampoline can all benefit from this class...balls, bands and weights are used, and students are sent home with exercises to do between classes!!

Trampoline
Bounce your way to increased body awareness! From basic trampoline skills to more advanced twists and revolutions, trampoline classes provide an aerobic workout while developing new skills.

Chinese Acrobatics
The focus of this class is in the study of acrobatic skills such as Chinese Pole, chair balancing, teeterboard, contortion, hoop diving and tumbling. Time is spent on handstands, partner balancing, and single and partner tumbling. Students work on dynamic relationships with the ground and other people, while developing confidence and body awareness.

Contortion
Award winning contortionist from Mongolia, Bolormaa Batbayar (Bolgi) has joined the teaching staff at Trapeze Arts and is offering contortion classes to adults and children. These classes focus on learning techniques for strength, balance and flexibility. Classes are catered to students of all levels and abilities, and there are no prerequisites. One does not need to be young or flexible to take these classes!!

Children's classes are designed to emphasize self-confidence, while building coordination and physical skills.

The Saturday classes will be General Circus Skills and the Wednesday classes will be Flying Trapeze.
On SATURDAYS, we will be offering four 8 week sessions between September and the middle of June. The first Saturday session will begin on September 8, 2012. We welcome children ages 3-12 in our Saturday morning classes. Children will register for a spot in a specific class, it will be their spot for the entire session, and on the last week of the session there will be a performance, which will provide an opportunity for the children to showcase what they have learned during the session! Our WEDNESDAY flying trapeze classes will also be divided into four 8 week sessions. Our first Wednesday session will begin on September 5, 2012. We welcome children ages 5 and up in our flying trapeze classes. Children will register for a spot in the class and it will be their spot for the entire session. The session dates of the Wednesday classes coincide with the Saturday dates so the Wednesday students can be part of the student showcases on the last Saturday of each session. Les Aerielles
Youth Performance Company

For kids interested in pursuing performance opportunities in aerial and other circus arts (not flying trapeze). In addition to training in a core curriculum, students will develop their own choreographed act on the aerial apparatus of their choice. Emphasis will be placed on strength, conditioning, style, form and polish. Students must attend class a minimum of 2x/week. Performance opportunities occur throughout the year. Audition required.

Apprentice Co. to Les Aerielles

The apprentice troupe is intended for younger students interested in pursuing performance opportunities in aerial and other circus arts (not flying trapeze) but are not quite ready to join Les Aerielles. The focus of these classes is the same as Les Aerielles as these students are being groomed to audition for Les Aerielles.
